If you take one of our camel tours you will experience exactly what life was like for the Bedouin people for many hundreds of years. A camel is the best animal to ride in the desert amongst the sand dunes and rocky terrain.
You will soon learn that riding a camel is somewhat of a thing to master. Your first mission will be to actually get onto the hump.
You'll have to approach the camel whilst it's lying down, you must approach slowly and confidently. The next step for you will be to actually mount yourself onto the camel. This is the hardest part of actually riding a camel, you have to get onto it and do so quickly!
Great now that you are on the camel, it is going to stand up. For you not to be falling off you should lean back as the camel uses its back legs first when standing up. Once the back legs are up the camel will use its front legs, hence you should lean forward.
There are two ways you can actually ride the camel, you can sit crossed legs, which people say is much more comfortable or you can clamp your legs to the side and sway with the camel's natural gait.
Now that you’re on the camel, it’s time to relax. You won't just fall off and will get used to the camel’s gait and enjoy the amazing experience that you’re having on your Wadi Rum desert tour!
