Getting to Wadi Rum from Amman 

By plane: You can fly from Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport to Aqaba’s King Hussein International Airport and use Jordan’s national air carrier Royal Jordanian. The flight takes about an hour but of course, you’d have to arrive at the airport early and still take a taxi or private car to Wadi Rum,The taxi from Aqaba’s King Hussein International Airport to wadi rum is 38 JOD, Taxi can take maximum 4 passengers.and It is 1 hour driving.

 

By taxi or private car: There are 324 kilometres between Jordan’s capital city of Amman and Wadi Rum. The best way to cover this would be by taxi or by hiring a private driver as this will be both quicker and more comfortable,the taxi cost around 100 JOD, taxi can take maximum 4 passengers and it is 4 hours driving.

By rental car: Jordan boasts an extensive and continuously expanding road network, making renting a car an excellent choice for exploring the country. To hit the road, you'll need a valid driving license from your home country, with a minimum of one year of driving experience. Keep in mind that in Jordan, driving is on the right side of the road.

Highways in Jordan display road signs in both Arabic and English, ensuring ease of navigation for international travelers. Look out for brown signs, specifically tailored to assist tourists in finding their way to various attractions.

You'll find a plentiful supply of petrol stations in major cities like Amman and throughout most highways, with the exception of the Dead Sea/Aqaba road. It's a wise idea to top up your tank before embarking on any long journeys to avoid inconveniences.

By bus: A daily JETT bus from Amman to Wadi Rum departs at 7:30 AM, offering a convenient travel option. Likewise, there is a daily bus departing from Wadi Rum to Amman at 5:00 PM. The cost for these bus journeys is approximately 20 Jordanian Dinars (JOD), making it an affordable choice for travelers.

 there is another option from Amman to Wadi Rum you will have to take a bus from Amman to Aqaba (an 4-hour journey) and then make use of a taxi or private driver to get to Wadi Rum (this will take more or less an hour and it will cost 25 JOD). The JETT buses run daily from Amman to Aqaba and will cost you about 10 JD. 

Getting to Wadi Rum from Aqaba 

By rental car: you can rent a car in Aqaba for around 30 JD and drive to Wadi Rum in an hour. 

By taxi or private car: This is the most common way to get from Aqaba to Wadi Rum and will likely be recommended to you by one of our Bedouin guides, taxi from Aqaba down town is 25JOD, from south beach is 30JOD,from wadi Araba border or Aqaba’s King Hussein International Airport is 38 JOD.

By JETT bus : There is daily bus at 8:00 it cost around 15 JOD per person.and from wadi rum to Aqaba there is bus at 18:30 it cost around 15 JOD per person, so taxi sometimes is cheaper

BY minibus: There are minibuses with a route from Aqaba to Wadi Rum and these run daily but have no fixed schedule. Instead, you’ll have to wait until there are enough passengers in the minibus and the driver is satisfied to depart. This will cost you around 5 JD. 

Getting to Wadi Rum from Petra (Wadi Musa) 

By taxi: It’s a 2-hour drive from Petra to Wadi Rum and it will cost you about 45 JD. A taxi or private driver will ensure you get there quickly and comfortably. 

By JETT bus : There is daily bus start at 17:00, it cost around 15 JOD per person, also there is daily bus from wadi rum to petra at 9:00 AM it cost 15 JOD.

 

By Local bus: You can catch the morning bus from Wadi Musa at 6 AM or 6:30 AM which will cost you about 10 JD. The journey is about two and a half hours, Same bus take people back to petra at 9:00 AM.
