Your three-day tour will begin with a hike to the Burdah Rock Bridge. The bridge is one of the highest natural arches on the planet at 35 meters above the surface of the desert.
You can hike up the rocks connecting to both arch sides and walk over the bridge. It will take around 4 hours to hike up and back down, but the view from the top is unbeatable.
On the second day, we will hike to Um Adaami, the highest mountain in Jordan, 1856m above sea level, with a stunning panoramic view. You can see Saudi Arabia and the Red Sea when the weather is clear. It is relatively easy - mostly a gradual uphill hike with just a few scrambles.
The drive to Um Adaami takes approximately one hour. It is about 40km south of the Wadi Rum village, through the beautiful Wadi Saabit, a part of the desert that few people see.
The guided climb to the top and back takes approximately 2-3 hours. After the descent, we will have lunch in a pleasantly shaded desert.
Then, we will visit Wadi Nuqra Canyon and Um Sabatah before driving to the camp.
Our Bedouin camp is located on the edge of the wilderness zone; this is an excellent opportunity to stroll in the almost untouched desert landscape. The area around the camp is also one of the significant sunset viewing points in Wadi Rum, and you can enjoy this over a glass of hot sage tea.
Having eaten a traditional dinner in time-honored Bedouin style, you can experience the desert at night. Around the time of the full moon, you can see all the surroundings painted in surreal colors, and the moon shines brightly enough to walk around the camp without a flashlight (it's even bright enough to cast a Moonshadow!).
If there is no moon, and without all light pollution, the starry night sky is filled with myriad stars, sparkling constellations, the Milky Way, and often dozens of shooting stars. Some nights, you can listen to traditional Bedouin music, and (temperature permitting) you can even take a mattress and blanket and sleep outside amidst nothing but rolling sands, silence, and the stars above.
The following day, if you are an early riser, you can watch a glorious sunrise from one of the prime vantage points near the camp; the colours of the dawn are breathtaking as the sun rises from behind the mountains. Then, you will be treated to a hearty breakfast before we begin our third day of touring.
We will drive you to Al Hash mountain. Jebel Hash can be reached quickly and offers fantastic views of the surrounding valleys. It will take you approximately two hours to hike there with the guide.
Jebel Al-Hash's peak extends to 1,700 meters, offering hikers and climbers a moderate challenge. It will take approximately one hour to drive from the meeting to the starting point and three hours to hike.
The hike starts with a light climb. Once we reach the top, we will walk across the ridge, and you'll be gifted with some of the most spectacular views across the desert.
Once we've completed the hike to Al Hash, we will take you on our Classic 4x4 Jeep tour, which includes stops at sites like Lawrence's Spring, Khazali Canyon, Mushroom Stone, and Um Fruth Rock Bridge, among many others.
Then, we will drive you back to our Bedouin camp, where you can enjoy a hearty traditional Bedouin meal.
The following day, you can view the sunrise from one of the prime vantage points near the camp before being treated to breakfast, after which we take you to town for the morning bus or on to your next port of call.
